DONELL PHILLIPS TEAFF

Born in Mundy, Texas, Donell Phillips graduated from Plainview High School before getting her B.B.A.  from Texas Tech University.   As a cheerleader for the Red Raiders, she would catch the eye of a young football coach from Lubbock High School named Grant Teaff.  He was there to learn more about coaching the collegiate game but instead found his life’s partner.

The Teaff’s coaching journey has been well documented but Donell is accomplished in her own right.  She is the founder of the American Football Coaches Wives Association, served for a decade on the Baylor University Board of Regents, was President of the Baylor Round Table, and President, sponsor and advisor for the Baylor chapter and past national officer of Delta Delta Delta sorority.  Donell is also a past Waco Woman of the Year, recipient of the All-American Football Foundation First Lady of Football Award and is a member of the Waco Junior League.  In addition to speaking and creating Seminar Series with her husband, Donell was the former co-host of the Central Texas MDA Telethon.  In 1998, she was awarded the Baylor University Alumnus Honoris Causa for Distinguished Service.
